The Appalachian Trail

We celebrated the Harvest Moon with high school English teacher, Ms. Dishner, by sleeping under the stars on the Appalachian Trail. Along the way, we encountered a salamander, 3 toads and countless mountain laurels. Ms. Dishner was sporting a Toasty Tank when we met a couple of crazy-eyed hikers who started their journey in Georgia and were northbound to Maine. This wooden submarine built by Jay Nelson is the roundest new home for Toasties. It's docked inside the The Voyager Shop as the Needles & Pens annex in the Mission District in San Francisco.
